Tucker was ready to go to bed but I kept shining light in his eyes.
This is what happens when you go to take a picture and realize you left your SD card at home-you are forced to use your blurry little phone camera. (SD card is in the camera now and an extra is in my bag) We had a pretty good crowd out at the Campground tonight. Tomorrow we will be out there again from 4:30-8. Stop by and say "hi.' The person behind us is giving chair massages, so you can do that too!
There were several Christmas trees around where Santa was sitting. This is one of the ornaments.
This one starts blooming around Thanksgiving. The buds start out bright pink and then turn white as they open.
We stopped by Pickerington Ponds on the way home. The wind was blowing and the only bird in sight was a Great Blue Heron at the far side of the pond. After some distant pictures, I saw this tree near the parking lot. The ground was littered with fruit, and a few were still stuck in the tree. It was a little spot of color on this grey day. Shortly after we got back in the car it started to rain.
When Mike went to buy this guy a few years ago, the person at the store said we would never see it. It has been very happy in the tank and we see it pretty frequently. It has grown quite a bit too. Note the tiny starfish legs sticking out just above it. Those came in on some live rock and we were told they would probably just die off-instead they have reproduced and are everywhere in the tank
I guess winter is really here. I was hoping it wouldn't come, but a light snow and cold winds today say different. The marigolds have all dried up, but still add a splash of color to the garden.
I drove down to Lake Logan this morning and didn't notice any Herons on the drive in. Back by the bridge the ducks were hanging out in the sun. This spring I had noticed a bunch of babies swiming together with their mallard mother. There were 4 white ducks and 6 that looked like mallards. It looks like three of them survived and /or didn't fly south for the winter. There are two white ones and one young mallard still hanging out together. The larger black duck has also been there since summer.
Another cold day. I really need to get outside for a bit, but it didn't happen today.
This picture was technically taken yesterday, so I am sort of cheating...but I spent a lot of time today creating it by combining 73 photos-some weren't used, while some were only used to help in the erasing of people, or getting more detail in shadows or highlights. This is a 169MP picture, making it the biggest picture I have produced.
We got this anemone a while ago so the other clown fish in the tank would have a "friend." So far it has just wandered around the tank and is now on the opposite side of the tank from where that clownfish hangs out. It does take them time to make friends sometimes.
Today was supposed to be a rainy day, but then it got colder. It was so pretty out that I wasn't even bothered by all the slush and traffic. If it sticks around tomorrow I will be heading to the Hills looking for vistas. For today, while I was out running errands, I only got this shot of the crab apple tree by Menards.
I stopped on my way down to OMC this morning and took this shot. The pastel blue skies were amazing with all of the snow. (more pictures to follow in a separate post - processing is taking some time)
A couple of cold nights was all it took for ice to start forming in the Hocking Hills. Tonights rain will probably melt much of it, but with cold air coming in mid-week it will be back. I may have to go back out there next weekend for a few more shots.
Squeaker is a Green Cheeked Conure. He didn't really want his picture taken tonight, but he did lay on his back for a short bit so I was able to get his picture.
I had some partners in crime tonight posing the dog for pictures. Jessica dressed him and Kevin helped keep him sitting on the chair. Actually Tucker didn't seem to mind all that much.
We moved my Daughters stuff to another Dorm tonight. She said it is one of the oldest dorms on campus. From the looks of it I don't doubt it.
You can't trust Jessica. First she creates them...and then hunger gets the best of her. Not only did she take out the Couple but she ate their daughter Hazel too.
I was going to take a picture of a few feathers that Jessica's bird had lost. Then Jessica did this with them. Maybe a better centerpiece for Thanksgiving, rather than Christmas, but she had fun.

Tucker had a favorite toy. Today Mike found one to replace the one he has destroyed. Happy Dog.
There was quite a bit of snow still on the ground in Northern Illinois. This was taken at a rest stop south of Rockford, IL.
We stopped at the rest stop as we entered Ohio. It had been foggy for a while, but luckily it wasn't too thick.
The clouds parted for a short while today out at Slate Run Metro Park. It is hard to believe it is December when the temperatures are in the upper 60's.
There was a thin sheet of ice at the edges of the lake at Alley Park today. The ridges were catching the sun and making interesting shadows on the leaves.
I was outside today working in the hoop house. I decided to let the chickens out for a bit. After a short time pecking in the grass they came in the hoop house and made themselves at home in one of the unused growing beds. Perfect day for a dust bath.

Last night the sky was nice and clear. This was taken around 2am so it qualifies for my December 31st picture-a-day. I would have done it longer, but it was 2 am and pretty cold outside, and I wanted to make sure it was working ok because an earlier attempt didn't work quite right. It was a pretty rainy day today, so I didn't get any others. I am looking forward to taking a few days off now that my 366 is done for the year. I will be working on a 52 for 2017.
The birds at Ceni lake are used to getting fed. About 40 of them rushed up to the shore as soon as I walked down to the lake. Once they realized I wasn't going to feed them they just watched me for a bit before returning to the water.
