I decided to try to grow peanuts this year, just out of curiosity. The peanut plant flowers and then after it is polinated the stems bend down to the ground so the peanuts can grow in the soil. I have several plants and will only need 2, so if you are local and interested in a plant PM me. Today I also learned that they close their leaves at night. They were opened up earlier.
Many of you know that I collect LEGOS. This is one of the new minifigures in series 15. He came with the pitchfork and pig. I added the rest to give him something to do.
This little guy was enjoying his bath at Lake Logan today. The other gulls were just looking at him like"Dude it's 34 degrees out here."
Teddy had a rough day today posing as an abandoned toy in the icy gutter for a photo shoot. Don't worry he's all warm and cozy now after his bath.
My Orange tree in the green house has been progressing slowly because I haven't kept it quite as warm as usual The little flower buds are just starting to grow.
I have seen a few pictures of an old church in the Hocking Hills and yesterday I got a lead as to where it might be. While I think there is another one I have been seeing photographs of...this one was pretty cool. I debated, but finally decided on the B+W treatment which I usually don't do. In the fall, or on a brighter day, it would probably make a very nice color image
I had a hard time choosing a picture today, so I will probably post an album on my web site tomorrow. I went on a little solo hike today so I could take a little more time with my pictures. This is a different view than my winter pano of Ash cave. There were quite a few people around. There are actually 10 people in this picture.
There is plenty of water in the Hocking Hills right now. The lower trail was actually a little cool in a t-shirt, and there was still a bit of ice back there. The Ridge trail was pleasantly warm surprisingly muddy.

Today I had a guided hike at Clear Creek. We went off trail to visit a very large Oak tree. On the way back we worked our way through the sandstone outcroppings.
Spring has sprung.

My two plum trees are in full bloom today. Too bad there is snow in the forecast for tomorrow.
Mike had his reading today at the Writers at the Cross Roads. He read from Broken Worlds Book III. HIs first book is available chapter by chapter on his website.
Today I went on the First Day of Spring Hike at Boch Hollow. They have re-routed part of the Buckeye trail off of the road and through the preserve. It was just over 6 miles in about 3 hours so there wasn't much time for stopping to take pictures. This portion of the Buckeye trail will officially open to the public sometime this summer after better signage is in place.
This little Leopard Frog tried to get stepped on at Walnut Woods Metro Park today. It was a bit cool today, so he was out in the grassy trail sunning himself.
Our Americauna chicken, named Dusty, decided to live up to her name today. WHile I was out working in the garden she decided to dig a hole and take a dust bath.
Such pretty little flowers were growing along side the wooded trail.

There is a new Chinese/Japanese/Thai restaurant in Lancasteer called "Wild Ginger." It was sort of a dreary day so we decided to go out, and I hadn't gotten my picture yet. Kevin's plate was very pretty, so there I was taking a food picture. All of the food was very good and I have left over Red Curry for tomorrow!
I'm not sure what tye this is, I am thinking Green frog that just isn't showing much green. Any ideas? He was hanging out by the little man made pond at Wahkeena today.
We went to the dog park at Walnut woods today with the dogs. Cody liked being king of the picnic table. Tucker just didn't get it.
It was gray and cool today so the few tulips that were open yesterday stayed closed today.
These flowers are every where right now, but I found this one at Rhododendron Cove today that had some nice bright pink...almost looks like sugar gleaming in the sun.
Sometimes it is nice to get up close.
A few of these come up in my garden every spring. I transplant them into the border and they seem to do well there. Having flowers in the vegetable garden attracts pollinators and makes it prettier too.
