We went to Sugar Creek to visit the Osage Orange tunnel. I thought it might be sufficiently spooky to make a new author picture for MIke's website. It was actually pretty bright, but I think I managed to spook it up a bit.

I'm working on a project, and while I love the sky, I think this needs to be a morning shot. I actually had to tone down the blue a bit because it just didn't look real. This picture is now(as of October 21st) on display at Fairfield National Bank in Pickerington along with 3 of my other pictures.
This snail was on a log along the trail at Fort Hill.
I spent a large part of the day prepping my photos for the Fairfield County fair. These are the photos I plan to have at the MPPC booth. Be sure and stop by to check them out Monday through Saturday (While the fair will be open Sunday, the Art hall is closed for judging that day). Two have been displayed elsewhere before, and two are new. The stream picture is also being entered in the Landscape category for the photo competition, and the Chicken is my entry for the Domesticated Animal Digitally altered.
This bee was still out working the last flowers of fall. I also saw ants, bumble bees, and beetles in the short time I was out.
As most of the forest wildflowers are fading this bright native marigold was making an appearance at the edge of the wetland at Desonier SNP.
My red blanket flower is finally putting on some blooms now that we have had some rain.
One small patch of leaves on my Maple tree have started to change. Hopefully the cool nights will make for a colorful fall.
This covered bridge is just outside of Christmas Rocks SNP at Arney Run Park.
Cody likes to hang out in Tuckers crate. Maybe it's the puffy pillow, maybe it's the extra space. He still acts guilty like he is being bad, whenever you come and "talk" to him(or get down to take a picture of him.
My little rose bush must have liked the rains we had a few weeks ago. It has decided to bloom again.
A short trip outside yielded pictures of 4 different types of polinators on the Asters. At times there were multiple insects going for the same flower. I guess they know what is coming. There is a lot to do to get ready for Winter on this beautiful Fall day.
The critters were busy again today in the sunshine. These Asters are popping up all over my yard, and seem to feed a lot of critters.
Conkles Hollow
It was a hazy morning, but the fall colors were still shining through.
It was a lovely day to stay inside today. So today's picture is a little different. Mike has had this Scooby Doo LEGO set sitting around for quite a while unopened. This evening Kevin and I put it together and I decided to do some light painting with some colored gels that I have. This is a combination of several exposures with each one lit with a different color that are then combined in Photoshop using the Lighten blend mode.
The maple tree in the front yard is still mostly green, but everyday there are more and more patches of red leaves. I didn't get out until after it had started raining today. Things have been pretty dry, so the rain is welcome, and so far it hasn't been too hard so maybe it won't take down too many leaves.
It was acrisp fall day today out on the 1/2 the trails 7 mile hike at Clearcreek. This is a view along Cemetery Ridge trail.
My little pond will need winterizing soon. There is definitely a chill in the air and leaves are falling. All of these were in the pond, I just rearranged them for the shot.
The new trail is complete at Boch Hollow. Today we hiked in from a different direction than usual and did about 4 miles of the trail. We met a couple at the Gazebo that were visiting for the first time, so we gave them some information. Luckily they moved out of the Gazebo so I could get this picture. We never see people there(other than Levi who was there today as well) so that was quite a surprise.
Greenbrier berries were ripening in the sun at Tar Hollow today.
Tonight was our village Trick-or-Treat. So I finally got my pumpkin carved. Then it was time to play with fire (and a little photoshop). The blue is from copper sulfate in the bottom of the pumpkin.
This young Buck didn't seemed to0 concerned when I came down the trail at Rising Park in Lancaster today. There are a few pretty trees out there, but there is still a lot of green. Hopefully the late fall will bring a mild winter. I'm still in denial...maybe winter won't come!
Colors are changing along the Grandma Gatewood portion of the Buckeye Trail in the Hocking Hills.
Along the sidewalk leading to the Nature center at Darby Creek Metro park there are several animal cut outs made of metal. Prairie grasses have grown up in the field behind them giving the open areas an interesting texture.
This mum was sold last year as an indoor plant at about the same time Poinsetias were for sale. I nursed it through the winter inside and planted it outside this spring. Today the first flowers started to open. We haven't had a frost yet, so I don''t know how tender it will be, but hopefully it will get the chance to fully bloom. It is in a pretty large planter, so I don't think I will be moving it inside.
This year's Dogwood berries are ready for the birds, while next years buds sit in wait til spring.
I have been working on my website a lot today, so I decided it was fiting for the home page to be my picture today.
