Hocking Hills State Park in southeastern Ohio is one of the most beautiful natural areas in the state. Canyons, recess caves, streams, and rock formations are the norm for this area. Ash Cave, pictured here, is the largest recess cave in the state.
The park has a distinctive beauty when the weather gets cold and ice formations take over the area. This picture of Ash Cave in the winter is actually 18 pictures stitched together to encompass the whole expanse and adjust for the changing light between the cave walls and the snowy woods.
