Week Fourteen 2017 52 Project: Construction Project

The Mount Pleasant photography club has an art exhibit at the Fairfield county Public Library that will be opening this weekend. Back in March I took some pictures getting ready for it. The theme is a little different for me. The show, “Build A Better World,” which has been broadly interpreted by our group includes pictures of everything from formal gardens, and farmers markets to bulldozers and recycled tin-cans. I hope that you will make a trip out to see it. It will be on display until July 14th, and we will have a meet the artists event June 25th from 2-4. Here are a few of the pictures I took getting ready for it. The Cargominium view with the sign is not in the show, but shows what this unique building project will look like when complete.

This low income housing project was being built on Leonard Avenue in Columbus. Slated to be open in Spring of 2017 this 25 unit apartment is made from shipping containers. The outside and interior would be covered and the finished complex should look much like traditional building at a much lower cost. I haven’t had a chance to revisit it yet for updated pictures.
St. Peters Lutheran Church, here in Lancaster, was undergoing repairs this spring. The scaffolding alone seems like a huge undertaking.
