Day 3 of our trip West

We got up early to catch the sunrise over the Dunes. I had noticed a windmill off to the east the night before, so after a few shots near the tent, we headed to the other side of the camp area to get the windmill in the shot. We had beautiful skies again.

By 10:15 we had packed up camp and were on the road to Big Bend. We saw a lot of wild life on the trip, antelope, prairie dogs, road runners and even a Mule deer that crossed the road. It’s hard to get pictures while you are driving though.

It was about 2 pm by the time we entered the park. We set up camp at the Chisos Basin Campground because it is centrally located. By 4 we were hiking the Basin Loop trail. After a nice dinner at the Lodge restaurant, we were back at camp at 8:20. It seemed like a very long day.

These pictures are shown cropped until you click on them. Two of these are panos of the basin, so be sure and click on them to see the whole thing.
