Michigan Lighthouses Week Thirty-one 2017 52 Project

Mike and I took a circle tour trip around Lake Michigan. It was sort of a spur of the moment thing. We knew we were going on vacation but didn’t know exactly when or where until a few days before. The trip started July 6th and ended with a final stop at my Dads house in Mundelein, IL to pick up a few things.
We started out at Holland State Park and there was a Lighthouse. We knew we were wanting to stay along the coast, so we decided to seek out Lighthouses. We managed to “collect” quite a few while staying in a variety of campgrounds along the way. We stayed in a few State Park sites with all the amenities, and in several State Forest sites that were much more rustic, and one that was out on gravel roads. Our last night was in the driveway at my Dad’s house in Mundelein, IL during an unprecedented rainfall and several hail storms…next to a stream that was over flowing its banks. It was a good test for our partially finished camper van conversion, and it worked well for us and our two dogs.
