We’ve had some flurries, even a dusting, but yesterday we had our first real snow of the season. This morning I managed to get down to the Hocking Hills for a while and get some pictures. On the way there the trees were beautiful. There aren’t many places to pull off safely on Ohio 664. It is a curvy road, and I didn’t want to get stuck at the side of the road.(If you want to see the pictures bigger just click on them.)
Luckily the little pull off by Zwickle road was pretty clear. It is a parking area for a permit area of Boch Hollow. I didn’t have a permit to go into the nature preserve there, so I just got out and got a quick shot down Zwickle road.
At the Old Man’s cave area of the Hocking Hills I did a short loop that is just under one mile. I started at the Upper Falls.
I then continued down the gorge. Ice was forming along the gorge walls.
At the area called the Sphinx head the rocks in the stream were covered with snow. I worked my way back up the side of the gorge into the Old Man’s Cave and shot this multi-exposure picture. The sun was peeking over the trees making it very bright, so once again this is an HDR processed pano.
