This weekend I went on a camping trip with the Central Ohio Photographic Society. It was a fun but exhausting weekend. Friday night we shot the Milkyway. It wasn’t very easy to see on the lake, so we ventured to the old school house where we were able to do a little light painting on the buildings as well.
We decided to sleep in a bit in the morning, then headed off to Shieck Hollow State Nature Preserve. It was a long slow hike back there, but because the weather was cool it wasn’t too bad. Sometimes that hike can be pretty hard. My favorite picture from the hike was actually along the road before we got started. The bees were on the wingstem and moving slowly due to the cool temperatures. There were lots of other pictures along the way too though.
That night we just relaxed and had a big meal back at camp. Then came the early sunrise shoot on Sunday. There wasn’t a lot of color in the sky, but the mist and reflections off of the water made it all worth it.
We finished the trip with the 3 mile trek between the Lower Falls at Old Mans Cave and Cedar Falls. Being a Sunday, there were lots of people to try and shoot around, but I still managed a few shots without people.
