Week Twenty-six 2017 52 Project: Scioto Audubon and Scioto Mile

On June 2nd I had to be in Columbus for a while, so I stopped in at Scioto Audubon Metro Park. I had been wanting to walk the river walk towards the Scioto Mile downtown and this seemed like the perfect day to do it. I sometimes wonder about safety downtown, but there were plenty of people around, so hiking it by myself wasn’t an issue. It is actually a pretty easy walk, about 4 miles round trip, but on level land. It got a bit warm in the bright sun, but there were lots of places to find shade.
After that I headed over to Green Lawn Cemetery where I promptly got hopelessly lost. It took me a while to find my way out (follow the road with the dashed line in the middle-if it doesn’t end at the exit go the other way on it) and I ended up being a bit late to pick Jess up on campus. I had even asked a couple who had been walking through and they couldn’t really give me directions either…pretty sure they were going to meet a fence with no openings the way they were headed. It is a huge place.
